Ciara and Joe, who met at the age of 11 and began dating as each other’s prom dates, were married in July. Not satisfied with their wedding photographs, they opted for a portrait session in September.

The couple worked with Dawn and Carl at Ever Thine Film & Photography to recreate the shots they felt they’d missed on the day. Ciara said, “I am so happy we redid the photos because the result was exactly what we’d hoped for – dark, romantic, a little alternative and, most importantly, completely us.”

Their wedding had a mostly black and white palette, with red flowers, black suits, and black bridesmaid dresses. The couple chose what suited them, without feeling obliged to follow a checklist for an alternative wedding.

Ciara and Joe organised their wedding in six months while Ciara’s mum was fighting cancer. The reception was DIY, with her bridesmaids decorating the room the night before.

Ciara said, “I wish I knew not to just trust family friends to do our photos and I wish I didn’t give into the pressure of needing a make-up artist too.” However, she noted that redoing the photos meant a lot to them, as it allowed them to create those memories again and capture their wedding the way they’d always wanted to remember it.

Ever Thine Film & Photography played a significant role in helping Ciara and Joe achieve their desired photos. The photographers, Dawn and Carl, worked closely with the couple to understand their vision and capture the shots they wanted. The result is a set of photos that are dark, romantic, and alternative, just as Ciara and Joe had hoped for.
