A mountain bar meeting sparked a wedding that merged old-world charm with contemporary closeness. Anabelle and Tyler’s autumn celebration at Element Events in Warner, Queensland, centered on carefully chosen elements—dark tailoring, Spanish lacework, and orchids arranged by the bride—but its roots lay in an unexpected evening neither anticipated remembering.
Their connection began in September 2023 during a two-night girls’ getaway to Banff, Alberta. Anabelle entered the Rose & Crown bar with friends, where Tyler caught her attention across the room. A chance remark from a mutual friend—“Is that your friend over there?”—sparked conversation. The evening stretched past closing time, shifting to games, music, and shared laughter at a nearby home. “It was one of those wonderfully spontaneous nights that you know, even while you’re living it, you’ll remember forever,” Anabelle shared. “Looking back, it’s funny to think that what started as a spontaneous girls’ trip ended up being the night I met my husband,” she said.
Tyler had spent months preparing a proposal during a photoshoot with their photographer friend. Anabelle repeatedly postponed the session, assuming it was routine. There were a few tears between us as we reached the end of the aisle, and then, in one beautiful moment, my dad handed me over to Tyler, and I became his wife,” Anabelle explained.
The wedding’s design extended beyond the ceremony. The night before, Anabelle and her bridesmaids visited the Rocklea Flower Markets in Brisbane to select orchids, white amaranthus, and matthiola for their bouquets. Back at the venue, they spent hours arranging each flower, securing them with ribbon. “We chose orchids, white hanging amaranthus, and matthiola. That night, while doing face masks (of course), we hand-placed every flower, tying them with ribbon to secure. I’d describe the arrangements as elegant, modern, yet simple. Everything I wanted and more. That night was such a sweet moment with my bridesmaids I’ll never forget!” she shared.
Vows, Rings, and Moments of Heartfelt Connection
The ceremony included speeches from family, mentors, and the bridal party. Personal vows and hand-forged placement rings, crafted in Japan during their honeymoon, added significance. The rings were a deliberate choice: “We decided to hand-forge each other’s rings in Japan on our honeymoon (you can see it here!). Such an incredible experience!” they explained.
The reception maintained the same attention to detail. A custom Spanish lace sign at the venue entrance echoed the detailed mantilla veil Anabelle wore. Crafted to match her veil’s design, it served as the first detail guests encountered. Tyler explained how the lace’s patterns unified the event’s aesthetic from ceremony to reception. “She looked absolutely stunning, and it was by far the most unique style I’ve seen!” he said. “Definitely our sheer lace custom sign as you first walked in! It captured the aesthetic and details of the event, and matched Anabelle’s veil!”

DIY elements extended beyond flowers and decor. Anabelle and her bridesmaids spent hours arranging bouquets, securing stems with ribbon.
